The Kansas State University Insect Zoo was born from a need to meet the demands of our community. In the 1990s, Sonny Ramaswamy, Ph.D., then head of the K-State Department of Entomology, and associate professor Ralph Charlton, Ph.D., had a vision for an old limestone barn storage room at the University Gardens.
